Notes to Referrers

The following notes are intended to serve as a guide to referrers who are requested to write a reference letter in support of an application for a Scholarship from Kwok Scholars Association Limited (“the Association”). A brief overall endorsement of the applicant, including the following qualities, would be appreciated.

For academic referrer

1. Academic merit.
   
   
2. Skills in communication and leadership.
   
   
3. Personal, intellectual and interpersonal qualities
   
   
4. Educational or social disadvantages overcome by the applicant.
   
   

For extracurricular activity/ service referrer

1. Interests in social affairs.
   
   
2. Concern for others and desire to give back to the society.
   
   
3. Commitment of making positive contributions to the community and intention to use the university study to further that commitment.
   
   
4. Innovativeness, leadership and integrity.
   
   

Please state how long you have known the applicant, your capacity and the last time you have regular contact with the applicant. Please also provide your address, telephone number and email address on which you may be contacted by the Association for additional information. It would be appreciated if your reference letter is printed on a headed paper (if feasible), signed and emailed directly to the Association at [email protected]. Your reference letter should be submitted by 31 January 2024 for undergraduate courses (Hong Kong Time).
