Rachel Liu’s research papers have been accepted by the annual conference of the American Political Science Association and that of European Political Science Association. One of her research papers titled “Showing Vulnerability of A Powerful State: How Chinese State-owned Media Propagated 2019 Hong Kong Protests” (Research Paper 1). The other one titled “Daily Performance of Insanity: New Resistance Repertoires in Chinese Lockdowns” (Research Paper 2).

Recent Appointment

Sharon Chau was the Vice President and Treasurer of the Oxford Union for Hilary Term 2023, celebrating the Union’s bicentenary year. She coordinated and spoke in a debate on China and organised a successful Chinese New Year celebration. She also hosted many speakers including Senator Bernie Sanders.

Initiative

 
Shifted, founded by Ankie Ng, was appointed as one of the supporting entities of the Green Technology Accelerator Program. The program is supported by Cyberport to incubate companies in smart buildings and energy sector. 

Events Organised/ Spoken


Alan Kwok spearheaded and moderated a Citizen Consensus Conference in February 2023. This event allowed young people to study, discuss, and reach a consensus with legislators on the MTR fare adjustment mechanism. Legislators went on echoing their views in the Legislative Council. Alan also wrote a submission to the Legislative Council, explaining the impact of the Consensus Conference and suggesting the inclusion of this model in the government’s public engagement practices.

On 21 April 2023, Ankie Ng was the guest lecturer at a graduate level course at the Department of Architecture, University of Hong Kong. She talked about "Outcome-based Financing".
