A WORD FROM THE CHAIRPERSON
To our Kwok Scholars community:
I am excited to present to you our inaugural Kwok Scholars Newsletter. Congratulations are in order to our six new scholars for joining our community and bringing our numbers to 30 strong, as well as to our existing scholar, Brian Wong, for receiving the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship – our warmest congratulations to you all!
After reading through the articles submitted by Ayo Chan, Brian Wong, Jack Chong and Sharon Chau for this edition, I can’t help but be very proud of how our Scholars have found new and innovative ways to give back to society, and are thinking critically about very current and relevant issues, from COVID-19 to the sale of TikTok and the future of democracy. I believe this is testament to the diverse interests and insatiable curiosity that define our growing family, and it is my hope that together with the expansion of our scholarships to cover psychology and environmental-related programmes, these unique characteristics will continue to serve our community well and help us grow in size, diversity and reputation.
I hope you enjoy this newsletter, and please do not hesitate to contact Helen Donovan should you have any feedback for improvement. We are open to all suggestions!
